How Do You Eat An Elephant?

The last couple of weeks have been tough. Every election cycle brings it's own unique challenges. This one is no different.

Will we push past the hand wringing?

Will we commit to working for our candidates at all levels?

Will we get past the all to familiar circular firing squad?

We can and should make an impact. Will we?

I've got a plan to make an impact at the county, state and national level, stay with me here...but before I get into that, let me ask

Q: How do you eat an elephant

A: One bite at a time

If we increase our turnout by 4-6% in every precinct (red, purple and blue) we impact Sherrod Brown's race, the 3 Ohio Supreme Court races and Dan Troy's State House race along with our local candidates.

Let's discuss the Presidential race for a second even thought that will come into focus after the convention in August. If Ohio doesn't look to be in play by mid September, I suggest we do the following to help ensure wins in PA and MI. We did this in 2008 after the Obama campaign pulled out of Georgia. Volunteers from across the state carpooled and took busses into NC & Florida to canvass, called into swing states and yes, did the post card and letters thing. We alternated weeks and volunteer opportunities to ensure we still covered our local candidates. It could work here as well. Erie is just over the border, less than a 2 hour drive, and could have a huge impact on securing Pennsylvania's electoral college votes. Maybe even work with our friends in Ashtabula county for a couple weekend blitzes over there. For Michigan, we can do some phone banks and fire up the post card brigade. I think we all agree, we must do everything we can to prevent that guy from getting back into the White House.

All the while having a vigorous ground game here in Lake County. It just takes the will to want to make a difference. We have the targets, we have the office location to work in, and stage out of. We just need you. Come visit us at the campaign office 7547 Mentor Ave, Mentor to learn more about our local candidates and volunteer opportunities. Thoughts?
