Thank You for Your Unwavering Leadership

While it was a bit of a jolt to see President Biden decide not to run for re-election today, it's not really surprising. I do not like the way it was done but I think if we all step back and just assess the situation we are facing, it is the most unselfish, patriotic decision he could have made.

My first thought went to my parents. My dad, a retired professional firefighter, has been a strong Biden supporter for decades. There was no Senator more committed to the needs of our firefighters. My mom, maybe she will get to see the first woman president after all.

We'll have a little time to let the dust settle before focusing on the new Democratic ticket for the 2024 presidential election. Today, let's recognize the leadership President Biden has provided from Covid to just being a decent, caring human being.
